What the heck is Denton Halloween Company?

Is it three pumpkins stacked one on top of the other to mimic a human form? Is it a vampire, out for blood and here to bite? Is it a ghost of All Hallow’s past drifting through a ceaseless night?

We wish we were that cool. Denton Halloween Co. is a collaboration between Becca Burns (co-founder of Old Bear) and Claire Morales (local weirdo). These depraved minds concocted this brand in an attempt to celebrate and elevate local Denton art through fun, funky, Halloween-themed creations.

Born from a mutual love of vintage apparel, 70s illustrations, bright colors and all things kooky, Denton Halloween Company is about getting weird and a lil scary.

Come see what we’re up to at the Halloween Headquarters on the Downtown Denton Square!

ABOUT BECCA:

Born and raised in sunny California, Becca brings a certain west coast flair to everything she touches. Despite living here for more than seven years, she’s still getting used to Texas summers so please be kind to her while she mourns the loss of 70° nights. Becca is the co-Founder of Old Bear Vintage, bartender at the Bearded Monk, former name tag writer for The Price is Right, 2010s CBS page, ex-soap opera assistant, previous Disney employee, and a graduate of the Upright Citizens Brigade. Her list of accolades is both storied and peculiar. Although she’s historically been too much of a scaredy cat for horror movies, she recently viewed Obsession and survived the encounter.

Becca has a keen eye for retail and is passionate about helping artists to successfully translate their art into consumer products. She believes in sustainability and loves brands of the past, Snoopy paraphernalia, and Coogi sweaters amongst many other things. She’s operating the Denton Halloween Headquarters this year in partnership with the city of Denton and is so excited to bring this brand to life!

ABOUT CLAIRE:

A local Denton yokel, Claire has resided in our fair city since she was five, only leaving to tour with her band and randomly roam for months at a time on her solo van trips. She was raised by artists, including a father who collected Nightmare Before Christmas memorabilia (perhaps foreshadowing a future fascination with Halloween). A lifelong artist, freelance graphic designer/illustrator for over a decade, and recent sticker mogul, Claire busies herself drawing, playing music, baking focaccia and riding her bicycle when she’s not clicking away at her computer. She can often be seen walking the streets of Denton, but there’s no need to offer her a ride, she enjoys her daily strolls.

Claire is the artistic mind behind Denton Halloween Company. She believes in creativity at all costs and seeks to live a life full of art, friendship, and passion. She loves the community she’s grown up in and hopes to help enrich it with a bit of extra strangeness and pizzazz. Ask her about mycelium or sourdough and you’ll be the victim of an hours-long conversation about her niche interests.
